America's historic sites are irreplaceable. From icons of architecture to birthplaces of activists, historic sites are physical reminders of the diversity of our experiences and the history we share. Historic places can’t be replaced once they are destroyed. That’s why we help by working every day to save this beloved Oak Hill property and schoolhouse.
The Oak Hill School operated between 1820 - 1904. The last newspaper article about the school was that it was in dire need of repairs and community lunches were being held to save the school. The school is at the corner of Oak Hill Road and Hall Road in Thomasville, Georgia. Across the street stood a Primitive Church that has been gone for at least 60 years.
